Results of Flight into the Future Project Contest 2011 have been announced

On July 25 final presentations of the Flight into the Future Project Contest took place in the Memorial Museum of Cosmonautics.

10 teams from Russia, Ukraine, Kazakhstan, India and Italy presented their works. Besides, aside from the contest, two winners of the similar contest among school pupils made their presentations. Expert jury headed by academician Yury Ryzhov defined the winners. On the 26th of July awarding ceremony took place during which the prizes were distributed in the following way:

1-st place was awarded to the team from Moscow Aviation University – Pavel Fomkin and Alexander Ermakov –for their project of hardware and software complex for definition of microbiology objects on board of piloted space craft;

2-nd place was shared by team of Evgeny Vlasenkov and Chernikov Pavel from Kaluga filial of Lavochkin Company with their project Concept of Automatic industrial production of new materials and super clean substances and Ivan Lesnyak with Alexander Kazakov, who presented project Theoretical - experimental studies of the gasification process for residual propellants;

3 sets of prizes for the third place were awarded to Dmitry Teslenko from Nizhniy Novgorod Technical University for his project Perspective orbital Factory, Andrey Kuhta and Nikolay Kovalchuk from Yuzhny Design Office, Dnepropetrovsk for the project RD860L landing module engine to deliver research gear onto the Moon and Mars surfaces, and to the team from SRM UNIVERSITY, Chennai, India – Pallav Kumar Singh, Mayur Misra, P. Ramana Kumar. Their Project named Aeroutopia – a New Frontier describes a space station aimed to spread the inhabited area out into far space.
